Description
The Airbus A320 family are narrow body airliners designed and produced by Airbus Industries. The first flight was on 22 February, 1987. Air France was the first airline to use the A320 in April of 1988. The A321 was a stretched version of the A320, by 23 feet. It was first delivered in January of 1994.The Airbus family pioneered the use of digital fly-by-wire and side stick controls in airliners.U.S. Airways was a major United States airline founded in 1937 and operated as U.S. Airways until its acquisition by American Airlines.
This aircraft with registration number N181UW, had its first flight on June 26, 2001. It was delivered to U.S. Airways on July 06, 2001. In December of 2013, the livery was changed to American Airlines after the U.S. Airways / American Airlines merger, where it is still in service.
