This oboe is offered with the AK bore which was introduced in the 1980s and is a perfect choice for someone seeking an all purpose Oboe for orchestral and solo playing. The AK bore offers somewhat more conical bore than other Lorée models, making it more narrow near the top and slightly wider at the bell. The resulting sound is focused and dark, with less of an edge to it.
